Discover your inner artist, and learn about the ancient craft of hand building with clay. The earliest known ceramic piece is a figurine called Venus of Dolní Věstonice. This sculpture was found in the Czech Republic, the ancient pottery statuette is nearly 30,000 years old. Can you imagine your ceramic work being here for that long??
In only two and a half hours you will design, create and build a unique, contemporary bowl or platter that you can use daily in your kitchen, safe for food use or simply hang on the wall as your very own personal art piece or even frame it after, I will advise you on this option also.
With my help and guidance you will learn the fundamental techniques of hand building, sculpting and texturing a slab of clay.

I will talk through some ideas with you first, we can look at a short 2.5 hour workshop or a series of classes over a few weeks then, I draw up a plan for your team from there.
Learning outcomes
Your team will not only learn how to make a bowl, plate or vessel through a variety of hand building techniques including such as handling, coiling, slabbing, pinching, building, or sculpting method , shaping a piece but also use of all pottery tools and taking care of a ceramic work station. And how to make a piece to become a wall hang and framed art work.
